Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate, Dhaka (North) is one of the main duty, excise and value added tax commissioners under the National Board of Revenue. The action of Customs, Excise and VAT, Dhaka North Commissionerate was initiated on 1st July 1993 to increase the dynamics of the revenue administration at the grassroots level following the expansion of indirect tax regime in the value added tax system introduced in 1991. Under this office, 7 divisional offices, 24 Circle offices and 4 land duty stations are subject to the collection of value added taxes and import duty.
